To test if a yoga mat will slip after sweating, wet a small section of it and observe. If the mat is made of PVC foam particles that are too small, slipping may occur. However, TPE mats usually do not slip under these conditions.
A great way to test the durability of a yoga mat is to use an eraser on it. This is especially useful if the mat is made of PVC since it is prone to cracking. However, if it is a TPE cushion, you won't experience any cracks. While TPE yoga mats are popular among yoga enthusiasts, they aren't as good as natural rubber mats. Natural rubber is the most eco-friendly material used in yoga mats today. When discarded, it easily decomposes without harming the environment. Plus, it provides the best grip for both dry and wet conditions, something TPE cushions can't achieve.
